Reviewing Project Budgets

The status reports provided by Project Tracker.Net, an online project management system, include a tab with the project's budget data. This tab makes it easy for those on the status report distribution list to review the current labor investment and expenditures in a project, against its planned budget.

Within the Budget sub-tab of the status report, users can view the project's initial baseline budget, current budget, actual costs and the variance. Users can also drill down for more detailed information in a Project Costs by Account Code report.

For reports on budgets within the entire project portfolio, the Budget vs. Actual report in the Tracker Data Warehouse provides an excellent, mile-high view, from which the user can drill all the way down to specific tasks and resources.
